SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCED AFTER JOURNALIST’S PASSING
An award-winning journalist’s legacy is living on through students with the help of an educational scholarship formed in her name.
Nancy Parker, a University of Alabama graduate and reporter for Fox 8 WVUE-TV in New Orleans, lost her life Friday after a plane crash while flying with a stunt pilot.
In the few days since Parker’s death, her family is already looking at ways to honor her life.
The scholarship will be awarded to an Opelika High School senior. Parker graduated from that school. She was also a member of the University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Board of Visitors.
