Some stories really do have happy endings.

And those are even a little sweeter right here at Christmas time.

We were all in shock and disgusted last week when our local salvation army was broken into and toys were stolen from the children who need them most.

Four truck loads of donations were stolen. Officials told us then were was no price tag that could fix the damage done.

But once again, our community showed up and showed out with their generosity.

The Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors donated over $5,000 to the Salvation Army to replace toys stolen from the Angel Tree Program.

Each year, the group parks cars in the association parking during Alabama home games.

One hundred percent of this year’s parking proceeds were donated to the Salvation Army of Tuscaloosa.

They hope this will ensure that every child in the west Alabama

community wakes up to new toys on Christmas morning this year.

The Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors is not the only group giving back to the Salvation Army following the toy theft. The Filling Station, a local bar in downtown Tuscaloosa, collected over $1,200.00 to buy toys to replace those stolen.

They are still taking donations to give to the Salvation Army before Christmas.
