SALONS, BARBERSHOPS CAN CONTINUE SERVING CLIENTS AMID MASS SHUTDOWN
While the Alabama Department of Public Health originally suggested all salons around the state would be required to close until further notice amid the coronavirus pandemic, the organization has since amended its decision.
Unless prohibited by local authorities, barber shops and salons can continue operating, according to the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering.
Salons and barbershops must limit the number of patrons and staff to less than 25, should work by appointment only, space patrons appropriately in waiting areas and require patrons to reschedule if ill.
Workers and patrons should maintain a 6-foot distance, except between worker and client.
