ROOKIE TRIO LEADS TIDE OVER BLAZERS AT REGIONS FIELD
Coming into last night’s game at Regions Field against University of Alabama at Birmingham, first-year head coach Greg Goff turned to freshman pitcher Deacon Medders, former American Christian Academy Patriot, for the midweek start.
Threats in the fourth inning by the Blazers were foiled by the Crimson Tide as they set the tone for the game with a triple play.
Medders tossed four scoreless innings before being relieved by fellow freshmen Garret Rukes and Davis Vainer. Together they gave up one run through five innings of relief as the Crimson Tide took down the Blazers 4-1.
Alabama returns to conference play this weekend when they take on the University of South Carolina.
