ROCK CITY CHURCH HOSTS FOOD GIVEAWAY OVER WEEKEND

Rock City Church Giveaway

A Tuscaloosa church is doing their part during the pandemic. Rock City Church held another drive-through food pantry at the McDonald-Hughes Center.

The church partnered with the Christian Service Mission for this food drive and were able to give away 400 boxes of food, up from 300 they provided during the first event.

Pastor Hollis Thomas said cars were lined up before the event even started.

Pastor Thomas said the food pantry is one way they can fulfill the role of the church. He said the mission for churches during this time should be “to be the arms and feet of Christ in the community.”

Thomas referenced Matthew 25:35, which reads, “For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.”
