REMAINS FOUND IN CULLMAN COUNTY HOUSE FIRE
HANCEVILLE, Ala. (AP) – Alabama authorities say investigators have discovered human remains inside a Cullman County home that caught fire.
Reports say police and firefighters were dispatched Wednesday to a home that was fully engulfed in flames.
Officials say it took firefighters about three hours to get the blaze under control. Hanceville Police Chief Bob Long says there was a vehicle parked outside that neighbors say belongs to the woman who lived in the house.
Long says when investigators returned Thursday to sift through the debris, the remains were found. Long says a positive identification can’t be made yet and that the remains will be taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
Officials say investigators are trying to determine the origin of the fire.
