RECENT BREAK-INS HAVE NORTHPORT BUSINESS OWNERS ON LOOKOUT

By WVUA 23 Web Writer Robert Nealon

After recent break-ins in the area, Northport business owner Ashley Martin said she’s afraid someone is targeting businesses women frequent.

Martin, who owns Salon Serenity, reached out to the Northport Police Department to find more information about the break-ins, but said she hasn’t yet gotten a response.

The thief broke into her business Tuesday night, and fled with about $200.

“It appears they tend to be hitting up nail salons, boutiques, places that women may go, which is a little concerning,” Martin said. “So that is just some of my observation at this point of the businesses being targeting.”

WVUA 23 reached out to the Northport Police Department about the break-ins, but we have not yet heard anything back.
