The countdown to Alabama football is officially on. The A-day game is this Saturday and there are a few things fans should keep in mind, authorities said:

With the exception of the tide pride lots, all parking on campus will be free and open at 7 a.m.

Road blocks will go up at 11:00 a.m.

In case of severe weather fans will be instructed where to take cover until it passes.

Umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium, but rain jackets and ponchos are encouraged.

Other things that are not allowed in the stadium include: oversized bags, coolers and strollers.

In other Alabama football news, the race to become the starting quarterback is underway. There are five team members capable of filling the position: Jake Coker, Alec Morris, Cooper Bateman, David Cornwell and Blake Barnett.

“I think that they have all shown, at some point in time, that they have the ability to do it but, nobody has really stood out to the point that you could say ‘well that’s the guy,’” Coach Nick Saban said.

Jacob Coker was the backup quarterback last season, but keep an eye out for red shirt freshman David Cornwell.
