PUMPKIN PATCHES OFFER FAMILY ACTIVITIES

With Halloween approaching, families that enjoy fall traditions can visit some area pumpkin patches that offer a variety of activities.

Barnyard Tuscaloosa and Griffin Farms in Bibb County are in full swing. Both have pumpkins of all shapes and sizes along with family activities such as petting zoos and hayrides.

Kami Combs works for Barnyard Tuscaloosa and says it offers not only entertainment but also learning opportunities.

“We are a teaching farm so we love to tell people about how the animals grow and eat and different things like that,” Combs says. “We just love kids; I absolutely love everything I get to do every day on the farm.”

Admission is $16 per person which includes the petting farm, animal feed, bottle feeding, pony or horse rides, a boat ride, bouncy pillow, the hayride and access to the pumpkin patch, according to Barnyard Tuscaloosa’s website.

Griffin Farms’ admission price is $10 which includes most of the activities it offers including a zip line and rock climbing wall, according to its website.

For more information, Griffin Farms and Barnyard Tuscaloosa can both be found on Facebook.
