POPE FRANCIS IN AMERICA

Pope Francis was greeted by President Obama at Joint Base Andrews on Tuesday, the day of his 6 day trip to the U.S.

He’ll visit Washington, New York and Philidelphia during his time stateside. His visit has prompted an uinprecidented security undertaking in the cities he’ll be visiting.

In Tuscaloosa, local Catholics are enthusiastic about his visit. Religous scholars told WVUA 23’s Jack Royer that his visit energizes the American Catholic Church.

The Pope will speak to a joint session of Congress on Thursday.
