POLICE SEIZE POUND OF POT AND NEARLY $4,000 IN CASH

HEFLIN, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say two men have been arrested after Heflin police seized a pound of marijuana and cash following a vehicle search.

Chief A.J. Benefield says that both men have been charged with first degree possession of marijuana after police held a vehicle search Saturday night. Benefield says officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle.

Benefield says officers were doing a business check at a gas station before the search. Benefield says officers discovered a pound of marijuana and $3,722 in cash.

Names of both men have not been released.
