Tuscaloosa police are searching for the driver of the vehicle seen above in connection with a sexual assault that occurred over the weekend, along with a potential second victim.

Investigators said they’re attempting to identify the woman in a photo above that shows her at the passenger door of a white Toyota FJ Cruiser on University Boulevard just west of Queen City Boulevard.

Police said they believe the suspect in the case attempting to lure this woman into his vehicle before attacking the original victim.

Police said the original victim reported the sexual assault to University Police. The victim said the attack happened around 3:15 a.m. in the 800 block of Magnolia Drive, and said that she was walking in the area of the Strip when she was approached by an unknown man in a white vehicle, who said he was part of a church organization providing sober rides for those in need of one.

The victim said she accepted the ride, and upon arrival at her destination, the man restricted her from existing, and proceeded to commit a forcible sexual act. She said she was able to force the suspect to stop and was able to exit the vehicle and flee.

The suspect is said to be a white male around 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes estimated to be in his early 20’s.

Investigators also released a photo of the vehicle, and are asking that any woman who was contacted by the driver and offered a ride to contact the University of Alabama Police Department, the Tuscaloosa Police Department, or the Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit.
