Former University of Alabama superstar and current Las Vegas Raider Henry Ruggs III is facing charges for driving under the influence in an early-morning wreck that left a woman dead and Ruggs and a passenger in his car injured.
The wreck happened just before 3:40 a.m. several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. Ruggs was charged with a DUI resulting in death after he and his passenger were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for their injuries.
Ruggs was a first-round pick and the first receiver taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. After a rookie year of injuries, he was starting to show improvement throughout this season.
Throughout his football career, Ruggs has dedicated his weekly performances to Rod Scott, a friend who died from injuries he sustained in a car crash back in 2016.
