Monday marked the second day of the fourth annual Druid City Pride Week in Tuscaloosa.

But not all Pride Week events are flashy and flamboyant. Instead, Monday was all about contemplation. Icon Tuscaloosa hosted Poetry and Prose, allowing anyone who wished a chance to get up in front of an audience and pour their hearts out whether it be in their own words or those of someone who came before.

“People have talked about their own experiences, people have written poems about other things growing up,” said host Brian Oliu. “So it’s a wide range of everything.”

Tuesday’s event, Drag Queen Bingo, is happening at Tavern 1831 at 8 p.m.
