PICKENS COUNTY RESIDENTS CONCERNED OVER COURT ACCESS

Dozens of Pickens County residents flocked to the courthouse on Thursday, there to support family and friends on trial.

But instead of getting in to the courthouse, they were greeted with signs saying that because of the large numbers of defendants, no family or friends would be allowed inside the courtroom.

Visitors said they were upset, and thought they should have been allowed inside.

A judge in Pickens County said that more than 300 defendants were scheduled to appear Thursday, and there was no room in the courthouse for additional residents..
