PICKENS COUNTY HOSTING DINNER BENEFITING SAPPS COMMUNITY

The Pickens County Unmet Needs Committee is still helping the Sapps community recover more than six months after a tornado devastated the area.

To help, they’re hosting a dinner this weekend at Aliceville City Hall. All proceeds to go the Sapps community.

Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency Director Rob Robertson said tornado survivors in Sapps are still repairing and rebuilding their homes, and volunteers are are needed.

“There are also volunteer opportunities that are to be had,” Robertson said. “There is a Habitat for Humanity house being constructed. There are other types of skills needed if you have the desire to volunteer.”

The dinner begins Saturday at 6 p.m. For more information, including ticket prices, contact Aliceville City Hall at 205-373-6611 or click here.
