PETREY INDICTED BY GRAND JURY

Former Brookwood High School employee, Joe Petrey has been indicted by a Tuscaloosa County grand jury after his charges were dropped on Tuesday.

This indictment is for the original charge of being a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.
Petrey was arrested in August after hundreds of explicit images of him and a former student were posted online and sent to school officials.
On Tuesday, the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office asked a judge to dismiss Petrey’s case, which he did.
Captain Gary Hood, with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide unit says, all felony cases go through a grand jury.

Petrey is currently out on bond.
