Pet of the Week, Oct. 19, 2021: Meet Rusty

Pet Of The Week

By WVUA 23 Digital Reporter Kyrsten Eller

Rusty is a precious 15-year-old toy poodle who found himself in search of a new home through the Humane Society of West Alabama. Weighing in at 12 pounds, he is small with a white coat and is a very sweet, laid-back, loving pup who longs for a comfy lap and plenty of cuddles.

Rusty is an inside dog and would make a wonderful companion to someone who is home a lot. He was in a loving home until his owners had to give him up because of health issues.

He is house-trained but may need a refresher and consistent schedule to get him back on track. He loves to go for car rides and gets along great with cats and dogs. He has not been around children, so if there are children in the home, it’s preferable that they are 12 or older.

Please consider the love this little fellow has to give for his remaining years and the good feeling you will receive knowing he is happy and cared for in your home.

The adoption fee is $75 and you can find more information on the adoption process here.

All HSWA dogs are either at the dog adoption facility or in foster homes and require an appointment to meet.

Please call 205-554-0011 or email for more information.
