Pet of the Week, Dec. 21, 2021: Meet Annabell

Annabell is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Mountain Cur mix with a smooth, light tan coat and a black muzzle. She’s a good-sized dog and weighs in at around 40 pounds, and you can make her your forever dog by adopting her from the <a href=”https://www.humanesocietyofwa.org/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Humane Society of West Alabama</a>.

She was pulled from the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, where she’d been picked up by Animal Control as a stray.

This girl is a little shy and cautious during first meetings but she warms right when she gets to know you. She’s got some adorable quirks and a playful personality.

This isn’t Annabell’s first time at HSWA. She was adopted out but returned after five months because of stress and anxiety in her new home. Now that she’s back, it’s been determined that she needs some outdoor space and a little independence.

She loves lounging in the sun and playing with her toys outside during the day, but at night she’s brought inside and crated. HSWA believes the best environment for her is one where she can be an outside dog during the day but still get lots of attention from her people.

Annabell isn’t fond of younger males; when she sees them she barks and gets upset, so she may do best in a home with no children. Another dog is OK, but a trial adoption is a must.

Annabell is up to date with her vet care, is spayed and microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
