PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AND KILLED BY TRAIN IN EUTAW

A Eutaw man is killed after he was struck by a train.

It happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday on Prairie Avenue in Eutaw.

Investigators identified the man as 51 year old Thomas Branch Junior.

Investigators say Branch wasn’t paying attention when the train was coming.

They say the lights were flashing and the crossing bars were down when he walked under the crossing bars in front of the moving train.

The crash remains under investigation.
