Pedestrian killed in Sunday night Jefferson County crash

A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian Sunday night claimed the life of a man from Odenville.

Chapley L. Jones, 23, died after he was struck by two vehicles around 11 p.m. on Interstate 22 near the 81-mile marker, about 3 miles northwest of Adamsville in Jefferson County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash, but their preliminary investigation indicates that Jones was standing in the road at the time of the crash.
