PART OF DOG PARK CLOSING FOR THREE WEEKS
TUSCALOOSA – Beginning Friday, Tuscaloosa’s popular dog park will be taking a temporary hiatus.
The Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority said it’s closing the large dog section of Sokol Park’s Will May Memorial Dog Park for maintenance and improvements.
PARA said the work is expected to take three weeks, and residents with dogs weighing 35 pounds and over are instructed to use the training area of the park until the work is complete. Water and picnic tables have been set up there for visitors’ convenience.
Improvements to the park will include new sodding and resurfacing, and it’s been paid for through the PARA Foundation along with donations from the Will May Foundation and Tuscaloosa Bark in the Park.
Tuscaloosa’s Bark in the Park 3 is scheduled for April 9 next to the Will May Memorial Dog Park.
