Tuscaloosa’s One Place held its annual “Parents in the Park” event at Annette Shelby Park this weekend.

All families in the community were invited to join the fun, which included free food and drinks, train rides, bounce houses and various arts and crafts. Every family left with a backpack full of goodies and information about things families can do together, along with information explaining the services the family resource center has to offer.

“Every single vendor that is here has something interactive,” Lauren Collier of Tuscaloosa’s One Place said. “So the parents and the kids are able to do those things together. All of these people here are enjoying themselves and having a good time but they are also learning a lot about all the resources that are available in the Tuscaloosa community.”

Their next big community event is the Tinsel Trail, which will be up all Christmas season.
