If you’ve heard about the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and want to help, here’s how you can: A Tuscaloosa organization is collecting water and other goods that will be drive to Flint this week.

It’s called “Fill Up the Truck,” and anyone who wants to donate to the cause can drop off bottled water, baby wipes, water filters, money and more to New Vision Baptist Church (20202 Roscoe Blvd.) in Tuscaloosa.

Event Organizer Stepfon Lewis said it’s all about helping those in need.

“We went through something on April 27, 2011, in Tuscaloosa,” he said. “And people all over the country reached out and helped us, and I thought this is a great opportunity for Tuscaloosa to pay it forward.”

Lewis said the truck filled with water and other goodies will leave Tuscaloosa for Flint Friday morning.
