ONE PERSON HOSPITALIZED AFTER HIGHWAY 82 WRECK

At least on person was hospitalized after a wreck Monday on Highway 82.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Highway 82 West near Coker when a van slammed into the back of a dump truck, hitting hard enough to cram the van under the truck.

Sources at the scene said the van’s driver was taken to the hospital. No other injuries have been reported so far.

Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies, Alabama State Troopers, Northport Fire Rescue and Sypsey Valley Fire all responded. No other details are available at this time.
