ONE PERSON DEAD, ONE STILL MISSING AFTER CANOE CAPSIZES

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say they’ve found the body of one of two people missing after a canoe capsized on Lake Guntersville.

Local media report rescue crews on Tuesday found the body of the 16-year-old boy. Authorities say the teen was in a canoe Monday afternoon with two other teens and a man when a storm blew in and caused the boat to overturn.

The man was still missing. The other two teens made it to safety. Rescuers found a 15-year-old girl on the banks of the lake and a 17-year-old boy on a walking trail Monday.

Rescue crews halted their search around 10:30 p.m. Monday and returned first thing Tuesday.
