OFFICIALS CONTINUE INVESTIGATION FOR CHURCH FIRE
Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue is still investigating the cause of the blaze that destroyed a church in Tuscaloosa on Thursday morning.
Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church burned to the ground, but 45 children and five adults escaped without harm while nearly 50 fire and rescue personnel spent hours fighting the fire.
Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Chief Randy Smith said they don’t know what caused the fire, but they have determined where it started.
“The fire appears to have started in the back, over close to the day care and the school portion,” Smith said.
