The Tuscaloosa Community Dancers’ annual production of the Nutcracker will open at the Bama Theatre Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

The show features a large cast of local dancers.

“We have a cast and crew of over 100 dancers from the community, and it’s a challenge each year to get us all together; we rehearse on weekends, and everyone just fully commits to it,” said Alden Phillips, the Artistic Director of Tuscaloosa Community Dancers.

“It’s a lot of fun, and we have a lot of fun putting on the show.”

Madeline Evans, 12, will dance the role of Clara.

“It’s a lot of fun to watch, and just be there because it’s very entertaining,” Evans said.

There will be two performances on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sunday’s performance will take place at 2:00 p.m.

The box office will open two hours prior to the show, and the lobby doors will open an hour before the show.

You can purchase tickets online at bamatheatre.org.

The Tuscaloosa Community Dancers have been putting on this holiday show for more than 40 years.
