Northside football hopes to continue postseason streak in 2023

Northside football carries an impressive streak into the 2023 season: the Rams have reached the postseason each of the past six years.
While this year’s team may not be the most experienced group, second-year head coach Robbie Jones believes his team has the tools to extend the streak.
“You got to be engaged on everything,” Jones said. “You have got to play more than one spot, and when your number is called you have got to be ready. That is why being accountable and being here every day (is important). It will get you there. If you are not here you won’t know, and when you are here you will figure it out.”
The Rams return nine starters and seven seniors from last year’s team that finished 8-3. Northside finished third in Class 4A, Region 5 and was eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs by Etowah, 42-21.
Northside opens 2023 at home against Hale County on Friday, Aug. 25. The Rams shut out the Wildcats in last season’s opener 35-0.
