Northport student lighting up Broadway in National Down Syndrome Society video

A Northport elementary schooler will be larger than life in New York City Sept. 9 as part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society Times Square video presentation.

Loren Kennedy Horner, 10 and a fourth-grader at Walker Elementary School, is among the roughly 500 children, teens and adults with Down syndrome appearing in the video.

She’s a 2023 Special Olympics champion, with regional and state-level wins in rhythmic gymnastics, and a childhood cancer survivor.
