NORTHPORT SHOOTING CLAIMS THE LIFE OF ONE MAN
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has been called in to investigate a shooting in Northport this morning that claimed the life of one man.
Northport Police responded to the 3500 block of Fifth Street, in the West Circle neighborhood, late last night on a shooting call. Police found 26-year-old Michael Archibald had been shot one time. The victim was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
The Violent Crimes Unit said a domestic dispute between Archibald and his sister, 30-year-old Michelle Renee Scroggins had taken place. Scroggins went outside and grabbed a weapon from a vehicle and fired several shots at her brother and her brother’s wife. Archibald’s wife was not struck in the shooting.
Scroggins is charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Bond is set at $210,000.
