Northport Police are once again raising money for the DCH Foundation by selling breast cancer awareness T-shirts.

You can buy this year’s shirt right here. The design will be available for purchase through Sept. 27.

Community Relations Officer Haley Abbett said the shirts represent the department’s support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The fundraiser aligns with the Police Departments beliefs says Haley Abbett, community relations officer, and a way to support the community for this year’s upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We’ve been doing this fundraiser for about seven years now,” she said. “One of our former community relations officers started it, and it was just a good way to get involved with the community.”

Abbett’s mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor, and she said her family purchases a T-shirt every year to honor her battle.

“Breast cancer is just so prevalent. Someone knows someone who’s been affected or knows someone who has it,” said Abbett.

Shirts will be shipped and should arrive the first week of October, and cost $20 for small to extra large, $22 for XXL and $24 for XXL.
