Northport mayor collecting donations for tornado victims

Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon is once again collecting supplies and heading toward people in need. This time, he’s Kentucky-bound after a tornado Dec. 10 did massive damage throughout the state.
“We’re taking up donations, and as always we’re going to go up there and help unload, fellowship with them for a little while, have a word of prayer with them and come back,” Herndon said.
If you’re interested in helping, you can donate essential items like water, toiletries and cleaning supplies, money or children’s toys. You can drop your donations off at Herndon, Hicks and Associates at 2728 Lurleen Wallace Blvd. in Northport.
