One Northport official is pushing the city to provide warming stations for those who need help when the weather drops below freezing.

Northport City Council Member Jamie Dykes, who is in charge of District 4, said there are many Tuscaloosa County residents who suffer from substandard housing conditions or don’t have homes who are left without heat when they need it most.

“Warming stations are something we can bat around with our staff to see what options we have to help people who are in these situations,” said Dykes.
