Northport hosts community Thanksgiving dinner

Thanksgiving eve, Northport District 2 Councilman Woodrow Washington III partnered with Academics in Motions and Your Real Next Step, and hosted a Thanksgiving community dinner at The Robert Hasson Community Center.

More than 300 plated meals and desserts were given away to any and everyone from Northport and Tuscaloosa.

Councilman Washington said anybody who hears about the community dinner was welcome to come through and get a plate.

“You know, for me we always want to give back any opportunity we can in our district and really throughout our city,” said Washington.

Community leader Kevin Shobe says he decided to partner with Councilman Washington to impact the city and make a difference to the people who live in it.

“We are always about being in the community and one thing we pushed is we are here for the people,” said Shobe.
