NORTHPORT FIREFIGHTER FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS SET

Scottie Austin Swindle, 47, of Bessemer, AL, passed July 18, 2015. He served as a firefighter for 25 years. He was a Sgt. At Northport Fire Rescue and a Lt. At Concord Fire Department.

He was a loving son, spouse, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with family, friends, hunting, cutting grass, and helping friends.

He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents Vennie and Robert Colley, and Willis and Mary (Magdaline) Swindle; and his nephew Jacob Swindle.

He is survived by his spouse Kim Penney; children Madilyn Swindle, Abigail Swindle (Jacob Graham), and Courtney Verwyst (BJ); grandchild Paizley Ann “Peanut” Verwyst; parents Billy and Mary Lou Swindle; siblings Steven Swindle (JoEllen), Stanley Swindle, and Tammy Gunnin (David); and 10 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21st 2015 from 9:30 AM until 12:00 pm , at Union Hill Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be at the Church at 12:00 PM, with Kristen “PK” McGarity officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Alliance.
