NORTHPORT BUSINESS BOOM

Mayor Bobby Herndon says the City of Northport is being looked at like it never has before when it comes to retail and residential growth. Mayor Herndon recently announced that Jack’s Hamburgers will set up shop at the intersection of Highway 43 and Rose Boulevard.

This comes just over one month after City Administrator Scott Collins confirmed the former K Mart location will next be a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market.
Herndon says the city’s sales tax revenue is up 4 point 5 percent compared to a year ago.
This has Northport residents hopeful and excited.

In Tuscaloosa, Wal-Mart is set to open a Neighborhood Market on the corner of Hargrove and Skyland Blvd in September. This is a fourth of the size of supercenters, but gives customers a larger variety of groceries to choose from..
