No, there wasn’t a shooting on the Strip this weekend

Despite rumors circulating around social media over the weekend, no shots were fired on the Strip just off the University of Alabama campus or in downtown Tuscaloosa Saturday night.

Here’s what did happen: The Tuscaloosa Police Department determined the Strip area was overcrowded after the annual A-Day football game, and several bars shut down as a way to get revelers away from the area.
