NICK SABAN’S HIP REPLACEMENT WAS A SUCCESS
Less then two days after having hip replacement surgery, Alabama’s Nick Saban is back at work.
Saban’s hip started bothering him on the first day of spring practice, and a week after getting it evaluated, he had the operation done. Saban said he wanted to get it fixed over the summer so in the fall it is not an issue.
Dr. Lyle Cain of Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center, a consultant with Alabama’s athletic department, did the surgery and said it was a success.
The Crimson Tide just wrapped up its spring season and will return to preseason camp in early August to prepare for its week one matchup against Duke Aug. 31. The game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Because of his recovery, Saban will not be traveling to Nashville for the 2019 NFL Draft taking place this week.
