NEW ROAD PROJECT FOR CITY OF VANCE

By WVUA 23 Web Writer Alejandra Tenorio

A $6.7 million road project is in the works in the city of Vance. An overpass will soon be built across Highway 11 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad that will connect M-Class Boulevard and Tingle Tangle Road.

John McWilliams, public information officer for the West Central Region of the Alabama Department of Transportation said the city hopes the construction will help alleviate congestion formed near the Mercedes-Benz plant.

“The new overpass will allow first responders and motorist to quickly get across where they are going.” McWilliams said.

The project will begin later this month and is expected to last about year. No road closures are expected during this time.
