Travelers in Tuscaloosa will soon have one more spot where they can stop for gas, breakfast and other goodies.

The new QuickStop will be located along Buttermilk Road.

At Tuesday’s Tuscaloosa City Council meeting, representatives from the gas station company came in from Atlanta for the council’s vote on the proposed new business in District 6.

Renderings show the stop will include diesel and regular gasoline pumps and a convenience store so travelers can get breakfast, snacks and everyday items.

This particular QuickStop will have around 15 full-time and 15 part-time employees.

“People in that area, if they are looking for a job, they won’t have far to travel,” said District 6 City Councilman Eddie Pugh. “Plus, with Bryant High School and Eastwood Elementary School in that area, it’ll be easier for students to stop and get fuel, and for people going to ball games in that area.”

The proposal to zone the land as part of District 6 within Tuscaloosa city limits goes back to council next week for full approval.
