New hours for Shelton State’s Martin Campus salon

The Shelton State Community College cosmetology program has new hours for public salon services.

Located at the Martin Campus, the salon is now open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for appointments and walk-ins.

In a statement, Instructor Latoya Simmons encouraged men and women to patronize the college’s affordable program.

“Our current customers are very pleased with the services our students provide, as well as the top name brand products we use,” she said.

Students can study to become barbers, nail technicians, cosmetologists and more through Pell Grant financial aid opportunities.

“We are graduating a strong class of students in our nail technician program at the end of this semester. With this group of graduates getting ready to go out on their own, we can’t wait to see who follows in their footsteps,” Simmons continued.

Experience is not required to enroll in Shelton State’s barbering or nail technician programs.
