NEW DETAILS UNCOVERED IN ROAD RAGE SHOOTING OF 25-YEAR OLD
Reporting by WVUA23’s Chelsea Barton.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has uncovered new information in their investigation of the road rage shooting that killed 25-year old Zakia Bibbs earlier this month.
Authorities are now searching for a new model black Nissan Pathfinder with body damage because they believe the car may be involved in the shooting that occurred on Interstate 20/59.
Witnesses said the vehicle was occupied by three black males at the time of the homicide.
“We are not sure if the vehicle is a local vehicle or if it was just passing through,” Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Capt. Gary Hood said. “We do at this time think this was possibly a road rage type incident due to the description of the events by the witnesses. It sounded like the vehicle was following the victim’s vehicle in the left lane, then they had some interaction between stopping and slowing down in front of them.”
The shooting took place at 9:10 p.m. on the night of July 5.
