One of the most talked about Alabama players at SEC Media Days did not actually attend SEC Media Days.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who transferred into the program this offseason following two seasons at Georgia Tech, is generating buzz and making an impression with teammates on both sides of the football.
“He’s a great back. He’s fast, elusive,” Crimson Tide safety Jordan Battle said.
“He’s dangerous out of the backfield, but we love it. It’s fun to watch,” Crimson Tide linebacker Will Anderson said.
“He is super explosive, super dynamic, and he’s really smart. He understands the offense really well,” Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young said.
“He dies a great job of pressing holes and getting the defense to commit to things and making a cut,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said.
Gibbs addition appears to make the Crimson Tide “loaded” at running back. Gibbs, who rushed for 746 yards to lead the Georgia Tech offense last season, joins returning running back Trey Sanders, Jase McClellan, and Roydell Williams. Alabama also added two running backs from their class of 2022 in Jamarion Miller and Emmanuel Henderson.
