The Maude L. Whatley Health Center is expanding its hours and days of operations to continue combating the spread of COVID-19.

For the past week, Maude Whatley has been open until 8 p.m. to assist people who need to get vaccinated.

Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Saturdays, walk-ins and vaccinations are available from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. for anyone with any illnesses.

Whatley’s Chief Operating Officer Toya Burton says it’s been a successful and productive process helping people get vaccinated.

“We had people calling and ask about people who are homebound and can’t get out or a lack of transportation trying to get a vaccine, so we have gone places like Northport housing to other people’s homes to help them get the vaccinations.”

Whatley Health Services is offering the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

If you are 18 years old or older, you are eligible to receive the vaccine. To make an appointment in Tuscaloosa call 205-614-6189.
