Eight staff members and 19 residents at Northport’s Forest Manor Health and Rehab have tested positive for coronavirus, according to an update released by the facility Thursday.

The first positive test came May 19, and a second person tested positive May 20. Since then they’ve tested more than 80 residents as a precaution.

Forest Manor said they’re following all the guidelines put out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Alabama Department of Public Health.

In addition, staff providing care for residents who have tested positive are being paid extra.
