RESIDENTS, FIRST RESPONDERS CONNECT AT 36TH ANNUAL NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

National Night Out

Many people are still in shock after two deadly mass shootings took place over the weekend. But, local first responders want the public to know that they are here to protect and serve.

“This is not a time of distress or anything like that,” Alabama state trooper Reginal King said. “It’s a time they come and approach the officers and they don’t have to worry about this being a hostile environment. It’s just a great community event.”

Residents could see what first responders do firsthand, as part of the 36th annual National Night Out. The event took place in Snow-Hinton Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6.
