NATIONAL NIGHT OUT BRINGS POLICE, RESIDENTS TOGETHER
It was National Night Out across the nation Tuesday evening.
NNO is a promotional event held between residents and law enforcement agencies that promotes transparency in the fight against crime.
In Tuscaloosa, the event was held in Sokol Park, where residents got the chance to pick the brains of local officers and special unit members.
Want to sit in the front of a police car or search helicopter? Residents were able to do so — and they were even able to handle some police firearms. Games and bounce houses were available for kids, and Sgt. Alex Miles with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said he hoped the event positively impacted the community.
