MAN CONVICTED OF MANSLAUGHTER IN DECEMBER 2017 SHOOTING CASE

UPDATE Jan. 16, 2020: A man was convicted of manslaughter today for the killing of another man in December 2017.

William Eubanks, 53, is guilty of killing 45-year-old Jimmy Branch Jr. on Dec. 5, 2017.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.

A 53-year-old man is on trial this week in Tuscaloosa, charged with murder stemming from a shooting two years ago.

William Darryl Eubanks is accused of killing 45-year-old Jimmy Branch Jr. on Dec. 5, 2017.

Reports say the men were working at the same construction site when an altercation broke out over Branch allegedly harassing Eubanks. The fight led to Eubanks shooting and killing his co-worker, police say.

Witnesses say the altercation started after Eubanks bought the wrong type of screws for the job.
