MOTHER OF GIRL FOUND DEAD IN ALABAMA PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO CHILD NEGLECT
The mother of a 5-year-old girl found dead in West Alabama is pleading not guilty to child neglect.
Brianna Williams entered the plea today in a Jacksonville, Florida, courtroom.
Williams’ daughter Taylor Rose Williams was reported missing in Florida in November. The toddler’s remains were found later that month in West Alabama.
Prosecutors are charging Williams with two counts of child neglect and one count of giving false information to investigators.
Williams told investigators she drove to Alabama in October to pick Taylor up from her grandparents’ house, but they told authorities they had not seen Taylor in more than a year.
Williams is due back in court Feb. 4 for a pretrial hearing.
